What we check before connection

• charger rated power, voltage, current and number of phases;

• cable material, cross-section, route, length and installation conditions;
• dedicated circuit breaker and overcurrent protection requirements;
• RCD and DC leakage protection required for the specific charger model;
• protective conductor continuity and the condition of the earthing system;
• installation location, access, ventilation and exposure to rain, heat or impact.

Grounding measurement before commissioning

Grounding for an EV charger should not be assessed only by looking at the wire or electrical panel. Before the charger is put into service, the protective conductor connection and earthing system must be checked with suitable electrical measuring instruments.

The required test method and acceptable result depend on the site earthing arrangement, the charger manufacturer instructions and the electrical requirements applicable to the property. If the measured result or protective conductor is unsuitable, the grounding must be corrected before the charger is connected for regular use.

Charger power and electrical supply

Home and commercial AC chargers are available with different power ratings, including common 3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW and 22 kW models. The actual connection method is selected from the charger nameplate and installation manual, not from the advertised maximum power alone.

Higher charger power may require three-phase supply, a new dedicated cable, a different breaker, protection upgrades or an increase in available electrical capacity. We check these conditions before confirming the installation method.

EV charger brands

We assess and install compatible models from Tesla Wall Connector, ABB, Schneider Electric EVlink, Wallbox, Delta, Autel and other manufacturers.

Protection, cable, breaker, phase and commissioning requirements differ between models. The installation is therefore planned from the documentation and specifications of the actual charger supplied by the customer.

When an existing EV charger needs inspection

• the charger trips the breaker or RCD;
• charging starts and stops unexpectedly;
• the cable, plug, terminals, breaker or charger body becomes unusually hot;
• the charger reports a grounding or protection fault;
• charging power is lower than expected;
• the charger was installed but the electrical tests were not documented;
• a different charger or higher-power model is being installed on the existing line.

How the installation is planned

1. Send the charger model, location and photos for an initial assessment.
2. We inspect the electrical panel, supply, route, load, protection and grounding.
3. We explain whether the existing system is suitable and what installation work is required.
4. The charger, dedicated line and protective equipment are installed as agreed.
5. Connections, protection, grounding and charger operation are tested before handover.
