Bathtub edge mixer installation

A mixer built into a bathtub is different from a standard wall-mounted mixer. Its connections are often located under the bathtub, behind a screen, inside the bathtub edge or in a hard-to-reach place. Before installation, it is important to check whether there is proper access for installation and future maintenance.

If the bathtub is already installed and access is blocked by tiles or a decorative panel, we first check whether the mixer can be replaced without removing the bathtub. If access is not possible, we explain in advance what needs to be opened and why.

Replacing an old bathtub built-in mixer

When replacing an old mixer, it is important not only to install a new faucet, but also to check flexible hoses, connections, shower diverter, water pressure and possible hidden leaks. If old weak connections are left in place, water may start leaking under the bathtub after installation.

After installation, we check hot and cold water operation, shower switching, water pressure, connection tightness and that there is no water under the bathtub.
