When lock repair may be needed

A lock may stop working properly because of wear, humidity, door misalignment, a damaged key, dirt inside the mechanism or incorrect installation. Sometimes the problem is not in the lock itself, but in the door, handle, strike plate or lock cylinder.

What the technician checks

• operation of the latch and locking bolts;

Repair or replacement
